is indeed a matter of great privilege to invite you to attend the 2nd Asian and
Oceanian Parkinsons disease and Movement disorders Congress organized by
the Asian and Oceanian section of the Movement Disorders Society (AOPMC) which
will be held in New Delhi, India from 15th 17th February 2009. The host
of the congress is the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India.
The
Asian and Oceanian Section of the Movement Disorders Society was created to bring
the doctors, researchers and health care professionals involved in the care of
patients with Parkinsons Disease and other movement disorders in the region
together at one platform where they could interact in a meaningful way. The main
objectives of the AOS- MDS include. -
Facilitating
communication between clinicians and researchers in the region. - Disseminating
up to date knowledge about Movement Disorders.

Improving
quality of life and independence among patients and their care givers -
Promoting
research and facilitating research collaboration in Movement Disorders within
the region. -
Exposing
clinicians, researchers and health care professionals in the region to Movement
Disorders initiatives and encourage their membership in the AOS- MDS. The
meeting will provide an opportunity for young researchers to present their work
and interact closely with world renowned speakers in the field of Parkinsons
disease and Movement Disorders. Concurrently
the 7th International Symposium of Asian and Pacific Parkinsons Association
(APPA), a forum specially for patients, caregivers, nurses, therapists and other
allied health professions will be held with the aim to improve the quality of
life of persons with Parkinsons (PWP) through knowledge, research and information
on 15th & 16th Feb,2009. India
with its ancient heritage, promising future, cultural diversity, harmonious blend
of religions and a mix of orthodox with modern populace will provide a collage
of legendary cuisine, scenic beauty and multi-faceted society. In India modernity
mixes imperceptibly with tradition. Spring in India is the best season with pleasant
weather and spray of flowers all around the country. We
take this opportunity to welcome all the participants from the region and all
over the world to this congress. We will urge you to attend this congress in large
numbers with your students, researchers, nurses and other health workers and enjoy
